Matt I like simple zoom out to the logo and the interaction that will be going on after the reveal,I think that will go along with your Mad Men style animation. Unless your logo or charity is founded by the baseball guy Lou. You are relying to heavily on that as describing the illness, and not actually describing it. Like I said I don't know which way your trying to go with it hope I could help.
Smooth move Matteo. I love the idea of having the players running past the pinstripes and then zooming out to reveal the logo. Really grounds the whole piece and brings it "home." I'm excited to see your finished character designs.
The use of the pinstripes is very iconic in baseball and I like how you are incorporating them with Lou without it being entirely about baseball. The storyboard doesn't seem very depressing which I understand was your initial concern with your subject.
I agree that currently there isn't very much that explains the disease or how people can help in the fight, maybe you can add facts to address things like that with each pinstripe. On the visual side though I think your concept is already really strong.
I like the simplicity of it and I'm really excited to see your character animations, especially since the Catch Me if You Can title sequence is one of my favorites. The other thing I'm kind of concerned about is that it doesn't provide a whole lot of information for the viewer, and not everyone is going to catch the baseball/disease connection right off the bat (sorry, pun intended).
Nice start. Your message seems to be "Strength in Numbers"...no? Or maybe "You won't walk (run) alone"? Seems like you can do this with technique. Not sure presently how we zoom out from a t-shirt logo to the final logo yet. The animations are still a bit clunky. Try some of these?

ReplyDeleteI like the fact that the players setting turns out to be the logo itself. This is a good way to connect the two stylistically.
ReplyDeleteShort, simple but strong.
